이 노래는 상대방을 사랑하지만 그 사람을 가질 수 없는 아픔과 슬픔을 담은 곡입니다. 상대방을 위해서라면 자신의 삶까지 버릴 수 있을 만큼 진심으로 사랑하지만, 그렇다 해서 상대방을 가질 수 없어도 그 사람의 곁에서 지켜주고 싶은 마음이 묘사되어 있습니다. 이는 진정한 사랑의 본질이 무엇인지를 생각해보게 만듭니다. 사랑은 가지지 못하는 것이라도 그 사람의 행복을 바라보며 그 곁에서 지켜주고 싶은 순수한 마음을 담고 있습니다.

원작 영화 감독인 곽경택 감독이 드라마의 감독과 각본을 책임져 충실한 적응을 만들어 냈습니다. 이야기뿐만 아니라 장면 구성까지도 영화와 밀접하게 닮았습니다.

원작 영화의 팬들에게는 정호와 성애 사이의 연애선을 비롯해 주인공들의 부가적인 이야기를 주목할 만한 몇 가지 흥미로운 줄거리가 있습니다. 영화의 시간 제한 때문에 대부분의 경우 이벤트에 초점을 맞추었던 영화와는 달리, 드라마는 주인공들의 이야기에 많은 시간을 쏟았습니다. 그 결과, 영화에서 충분히 설명되지 않았던 동수의 죽음에 대한 상세한 설명을 제공하고, 영화의 나레이터 역할을 한 상택의 인생 이야기도 적절하게 묘사했습니다.

영화와는 달리, 드라마에서는 동수 역할이 더욱 중요한 역할을 합니다. 드라마의 인물 소개에서 동수를 연기한 현빈이 가장 먼저 등장하기 때문입니다. 아울러, 학생 시절에 많은 갱스터 장면이 있었지만, 성인들의 삶에서는 더 많은 갱스터 장면이 나타납니다. 그러나 드라마는 갱스터들의 아름다움을 가꾸는 것이 아니라 그들의 추악함과 정치와의 관계를 묘사합니다. 결국 갱스터들이 살아가며 그들의 몰락을 만들어냈고, 그것은 그들을 지우려는 정치인들의 검은 점이 되었습니다. 결론적으로 이 드라마는 갱스터들의 영광화가 아니라 그들의 비극적인 이야기를 묘사한 것입니다.

시청률은 좀 낮았지만, 배우들의 연기는 드라마에서 빛을 발했습니다. 현빈을 제외한 대부분의 주연 배우들이 부산 / 경상남도 출신이기 때문에, 방언과 감정 표현이 거의 어색하지 않았습니다. 전설의 짝사랑을 했던 김민준은 배우로서 모든 잠재력을 보여주었습니다. 부산 출신인 그는 서울말을 하면서 더욱 자연스러움을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 사실 김민준은 2008년 드라마 '타짜'에서도 부산 사투리 대사 연기로 높은 칭찬을 받았습니다. 이번 드라마에서도 부산 사투리 대사가 처음 등장할 때, 어색한 부산 사투리 대사를 연기하는 장혁과는 대조적으로 자연스러운 발음으로 연기를 해서 칭찬을 받았습니다. 시청률이 높지 않은 이유는 방영 시간(토요일 밤 11시) 때문일 수도 있습니다.

The director of the original movie, Kwak Kyung-taek, takes charge of directing and writing the script for the drama, resulting in a faithful adaptation. Not only the story but also the scene composition closely resembles the movie.

For fans of the original movie, there are several interesting plot points to pay attention to, including the love line between Jung-ho and Sung-ae. The drama strengthens the side stories of the characters, making their stories more abundant than in the movie. While the movie focused mainly on events due to time constraints, the drama spends a lot of time on the characters' stories. Therefore, the drama provides a detailed explanation of Dong-soo's death, which was not adequately explained in the movie. The life story of Sang-taek, who was the narrator in the movie, is also properly depicted.

Unlike the movie, Dong-soo's role has more significance in the drama. In the beginning of the drama when introducing the characters, Hyun-bin, who played Dong-soo, is the first to be introduced, perhaps due to his importance in the drama.

Moreover, although there were many gangster scenes during their school days, there are even more in their adult lives. However, the drama does not glamorize gangsters but portrays the ugliness of gangsters and their connection to politics. It was ultimately a tragedy where gangsters lived their lives and met their demise, which became a black mark for politicians who wanted to erase them... In conclusion, this drama is not a glorification of gangsters but rather a depiction of their tragedy.

Although the ratings were a bit low, the actors' performances shone in the drama. Except for Hyun-bin, most of the leading actors are from Busan/Gyeongsangnam-do, so the dialect and emotional expressions were rarely awkward. Kim Min-joon, who played Jun-seok, showed his full potential in acting. As an actual native of Busan, he displayed a different naturalness in his acting, probably due to the relief of speaking Seoul dialect. In fact, Kim Min-joon received high praise for his Busan dialect lines even in the drama Tazza in 2008. When the Busan dialect lines came out in the beginning of the play, he received praise for his natural delivery of the Busan dialect, contrasting with the awkward dialect of Jang Hyuk, also from Busan. The low ratings compared to the actors' performances may have been due to the broadcast time (Saturday night at 11 PM).
