박정운은 대한민국의 싱어송라이터로, 1965년 12월 25일에 서울에서 태어났습니다. 어린 시절에 미국으로 이민을 갔다가 대한민국으로 돌아와 연세대학교를 졸업하였습니다. 1989년에는 첫 번째 앨범인 "Who Me"로 데뷔하였고, 오석준과 장필순과 함께하는 합동 프로젝트 앨범인 "오장박"으로도 성공을 거두었습니다.

1991년에는 두 번째 앨범인 "오늘 같은 밤이면"을 발표하여 큰 인기를 얻었으며, 1993년에 발표한 세 번째 앨범인 "먼 훗날에"도 많은 사랑을 받았습니다. 이 앨범은 MBC에서 여러 차례 음악 방송 1위를 차지하기도 했습니다. 박정운은 팝, 재즈, 테크노, 록 등 다양한 장르에 도전하며 가수로서의 입지를 굳혔으며, 수많은 히트 곡들을 선보였습니다.

또한, 2003년에는 MBC 드라마 '옥탑방 고양이'를 시작으로 꾸준히 드라마, 뮤지컬, 영화 등 배우로서도 활동하였습니다. 2007년부터는 KBS '이현우의 음악앨범'을 통해 대중과 소통하며 다재다능한 엔터테이너로서의 모습을 보여주었습니다.

하지만 2002년 이후 건강상의 이유로 가수 활동을 중단하였고, 개인 사업에 전념하였습니다. 2017년에는 KBS 2TV의 프로그램 '불후의 명곡 - 전설을 노래하다'에 김민우와 함께 출연하여 오랜만에 대중들과 만났습니다.

그러나 2017년 말에 가상화폐 사기 의혹에 연루되어 기소되고 출국금지 조치를 받았습니다. 2018년에는 1심에서 징역 8개월과 집행유예 2년이 선고되었으나, 2심에서는 무죄 판결을 받았습니다. 그러나 박정운은 자신이 무죄를 받았음에도 불구하고 이 사건에 대한 억울함을 호소하였으며, 이에 대한 보도가 거의 없었다고 언급하였습니다.

가족과의 복귀를 꿈꾸던 그는 2022년 9월 17일에 간경변으로 세상을 떠났습니다. 그는 송파구 석촌동에서 LP카페를 운영하며 개인 사업에 종사하였으며, 많은 팬들과 가수 활동을 그리워하였습니다. 평소에 친했던 가수 박준하가 그의 부고를 전하였으며, 팬클럽 회장과 많은 사람들이 그의 임종을 지켜보았습니다.

Park Jung-woon is a South Korean singer-songwriter who was born in Seoul on December 25, 1965. I immigrated to the United States when I was young, returned to Korea, and graduated from Yonsei University. In 1989, he debuted with his first album, "Who Me," and also succeeded with "Oh Jang-bak," a joint project album with Oh Seok-joon and Jang Pil-soon.

In 1991, he released his second album, "On a Night Like Tonight," which became very popular, and his third album, "Far Later," which was released in 1993, was also very popular. The album has also topped several music shows on MBC. Park Jung-woon has established himself as a singer by challenging various genres such as pop, jazz, techno, and rock, and has performed numerous hit songs.

In addition, starting with MBC drama 'Rooftop Cat' in 2003, he continued to work as an actor such as drama, musical, and movie. Since 2007, he has communicated with the public through KBS's "Lee Hyun-woo's Music Album" and has shown himself as a versatile entertainer.
