에피톤 프로젝트(Epitone Project)는 대한민국의 전자 음악 그룹으로서, 차세정의 솔로 유닛으로 구성되어 있습니다. 이 그룹은 토이의 유희열, 015B의 정석원, 장호일과 같은 작곡가 중심의 프로젝트 그룹으로 알려져 있으며, 그룹명 '에피톤'은 일본의 뮤지션 마에다 가즈히코의 곡 "Epitone"에서 따온 것입니다.

어린 시절부터 음악을 좋아하는 아버지의 영향으로 LP판을 듣는 환경에서 자라면서 음악에 대한 관심을 키웠습니다. 처음에는 컴퓨터 프로그래머가 되는 것을 꿈꾸었지만, 집안의 반대로 인해 사회학부에 진학하게 되었습니다. 그러나 한 학기도 마치지 못한 채 학교를 그만둔 후, 혼자서 미디 음악을 배워가기 시작했습니다.

2006년에 데뷔 싱글 앨범 "1229"를 발표한 후, 꾸준한 음악 활동을 이어나가고 있습니다. 2008년 여름에는 파스텔뮤직과 계약을 체결했으며, 2009년에는 미니앨범 "긴 여행의 시작"을 발표했습니다.

2017년 2월에는 파스텔뮤직과의 계약이 종료되었고, 이후 2017년 3월에는 인터파크와 전속 계약을 체결했습니다. 이 그룹은 국카스텐과 김윤아가 속한 인터파크와의 계약을 통해 활발한 활동을 이어나가고 있습니다.

에피톤 프로젝트의 첫 번째 앨범인 "불면증"은 2020년에 발매되었으며, 윤하가 보컬로 참여했습니다. 이 앨범은 한국 발라드, K팝, KPOP, 가요, Korean Ballad, Folk 등의 장르를 아우르고 있습니다.

Epitone Project is an electronic music group from South Korea, formed as a solo unit of the composer Cha Sejeong. It is known as a project group centered around composers such as Yoo Hee-yeol of Toy, Jeong Seok-won, and Jang Ho-il. The group name 'Epitone' was borrowed from the song "Epitone" by the Japanese musician Maeda Kazuhiko.

Growing up in an environment where LP records were enjoyed due to the influence of his music-loving father, Cha Sejeong developed an interest in music. While initially aspiring to become a computer programmer, he pursued a degree in sociology against his family's opposition. However, he left school without completing a single semester and began learning MIDI music on his own.

In 2006, he released his debut single album "1229" and has been consistently active in the music scene since then. In the summer of 2008, he signed a contract with Pastel Music and released the mini-album "The Beginning of a Long Journey" in 2009.

In February 2017, his contract with Pastel Music ended, and in March 2017, he signed an exclusive contract with Interpark. Through the contract with Interpark, which includes artists such as Nell and Kim Yoon-ah, he continues to engage in active activities.

The first album of Epitone Project, "Insomnia," was released in 2020, featuring vocals by Younha. The album encompasses various genres, including Korean ballad, K-pop, pop, Korean folk, and more.
