양파(본명: 이은진, 1979년 3월 17일 ~ )은 대한민국의 가수, 작사가, 싱어송라이터입니다.

양파는 대구광역시에서 태어나, 중학교 3학년 겨울방학 때 친척의 권유로 서울 신촌뮤직에서 오디션을 보았습니다. 대구혜화여자고등학교에 진학한 후 가수가 되기 위해 서울 중경고등학교로 전학을 갔습니다.

소속사가 '양파'라는 예명을 지은 이유는 양파의 신비로운 모습에서 영감을 받아서였습니다. 양파는 항상 새로운 모습을 보여주겠다는 의미로 이 예명을 받았지만, 양파 본인은 이 예명을 마음에 들지 않아 몇 밤을 울었다고 언급한 적이 있습니다.

양파는 1세대 아이돌 무리 속에서 빛나는 존재로 데뷔하였으며, 모범생의 이미지로 인해 신드롬을 일으켰습니다. 하지만 정규 4집 활동 이후 소속사와의 소송으로 인해 6년 동안 공백을 갖게 되었습니다. 이 기간 동안 양파는 자신의 본명인 이은진에서 '진' 자를 제외한 '이은'으로 활동명을 변경하려는 시도를 했습니다. 이는 다른 표현으로는 '이은'으로 활동명을 선택하려 했습니다.. 그러나 결국 새로운 소속사와 논의 끝에 다시 '양파'로 활동하게 되었습니다.

약 2004~2005년에는 소속사인 신촌뮤직과 계약 종료 후 새로 시작하겠다는 의미로 이름을 바꾸려고 한 소문이 돌았습니다. 양파 예명은 처음 소속사가 지어준 것이었고, 양파 본인은 이 예명을 마음에 들지 않았지만, 유명해져서 본명을 사용할지 많은 고민을 했다고 합니다.

정규 3집 활동 이후에는 우등생으로 알려진 양파는 미국 버클리 음악대학으로 아시안 장학금으로 4년간의 전액 장학금을 받고 유학을 갔습니다. 1999년 당시 양파의 입학은 버클리 음악대학이 한국 학생들에게 더

욱 알려지는 계기가 되었습니다. 동시에 김동률, 그 후 윤상 등 유명한 뮤지션들도 함께 입학하였습니다.

양파는 다른 가수들과는 달리 한창 전성기에 유학을 선택하면서 이례적인 행보를 보였습니다. 방학 때마다 귀국하여 베스트 앨범을 발매하거나 휴학을 하고 정규 4집을 내면서 활동을 이어나갔지만, 소속사와의 소송으로 인해 2005년까지 장기적인 공백을 경험하게 되었고, 20대에서 활발한 활동을 할 수 없는 시기를 헛되게 보내야 했습니다.

2015년을 기준으로 데뷔한 지 20년이 되는 양파는 국민적으로 알려진 가수이지만, 의외로 10년 이상의 공백을 가지고 있습니다. 그러나 2015년에 MBC의 '나는 가수다 3'에 출연하여 자전적인 이야기를 솔직하게 털어놓으며 큰 호응을 받았습니다. 2017년에 발매한 싱글 '끌림'이 마지막으로 알려진 디스코그래피입니다.

한 해가 끝나기 전, 지난 9월 교통사고 이후 몸과 마음의 회복에 전념하던 양파는 팬들에게 감사의 마음을 전하기 위한 행사를 계획했습니다. 추운 날씨에도 열기 넘치는 팬 미팅 현장은 생생한 분위기로 가득했습니다.

양파는 2018년부터 2020년까지 KBS Happy FM에서 진행한 라디오 프로그램 ＜양파의 음악정원＞으로 매일 팬들과 소통하며 인기를 얻었습니다. 이번 팬 미팅은 그 때의 따뜻한 분위기를 그대로 느낄 수 있는 라디오 부스를 테마로 준비되었습니다. ＜양파의 음악정원＞의 멜로디가 흘러나오며, 양파는 감미로운 목소리로 오프닝 멘트를 읽어내려가며 팬 미팅을 시작했습니다. 양파는 최근 교통사고를 당한 후 삶의 소중함을 깨달았고, 팬들에게 받은 사랑에 감사의 인사를 전하고자 팬 미팅을 마련한 이유를 밝혔습니다. 아직 몸은 완전히 회복되지 않았지만, 양파의 마음은 팬들에게 충분히 전달되었습니다.

주인공은 너와 함께라면 자유롭고 행복할 수 있다는 것을 깨닫고 있습니다. 지친 어둠이 푸른 눈을 떴을 때, 그는 너의 모습을 그대로 바라보며 너의 곁에 있어줄 것을 간절히 바라고 있습니다. 그저 제발, 지금 이대로 내 곁에 있어줄 수 있기를 소망합니다.

이 가사는 주인공의 내면적인 갈망과 사랑에 대한 열망을 표현하고 있습니다. 그는 너와 함께라면 모든 어려움을 이겨낼 수 있다고 믿으며, 그 사랑을 통해 우리만의 미래를 만들어 나갈 수 있음을 전합니다.

They desire your presence, knowing that they can rely on your love and face the world as it is.

This lyrics expresses the protagonist's inner longing and desire for love. They believe that with you, they can conquer any difficulties. Prior to the end of the year, Yangpa, who had been focusing solely on recovering both physically and mentally since the traffic accident in September, planned an event to express gratitude to her fans. Despite the cold weather, the fan meeting venue was filled with fervent energy.

Yangpa, a veteran DJ who hosted the radio program "Yangpa's Music Garden" on KBS Happy FM from 2018 to 2020, had established a strong connection with her fans through daily interactions. For this fan meeting, a radio booth was set up to recreate the warm atmosphere of those moments. The familiar melody of "Yangpa's Music Garden" played in the background as Yangpa, with her sweet voice, began the opening greeting. She shared that the recent major traffic accident made her reflect on the importance of life, which led her to organize this fan meeting to express her gratitude to her fans. Although her body hasn't fully recovered yet, Yangpa's heartfelt appreciation was successfully conveyed to her fans.

Onion (real name: Lee Eun-jin, born March 17, 1979) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and singer-songwriter.

Onion was born in Daegu Metropolitan City and auditioned at Sinchon Music in Seoul at the recommendation of a relative during the winter vacation in the third grade of middle school. After going to Daegu Hyehwa Girls' High School, I transferred to Jungkyung High School in Seoul to become a singer.

The agency gave the stage name 'Onion' because it was inspired by the mysterious appearance of the onion. The onion was always given this stage name to show a new look, but he once mentioned that he cried a few nights because he didn't like it.

Onion debuted as a shining presence in a group of first-generation idols and caused a syndrome due to the image of a model student. However, after the 4th full-length album activities, I had a six-year hiatus due to a lawsuit with the agency. During this period, Onion attempted to change her name from her real name, Lee Eun-jin, to "Lee Eun," excluding the letter "Jin." It tried to select the activity name as 'Lee Eun' in another expression.. However, after discussing with a new agency, I became an "onion" again.

From about 2004 to 2005, there was a rumor that he tried to change his name to mean that he would start anew after the end of his contract with his agency, Sinchon Music. The onion stage name was first given by the agency, and the onion himself did not like this stage name, but he became famous and thought a lot about whether to use his real name.

After his third full-length album, Onion, known as an honor student, went to Berkeley Music University in the United States to study abroad with a four-year full scholarship with an Asian scholarship. Onion's admission to the school in 1999 made Berkeley more interesting for Korean students

It was an opportunity to be known. At the same time, famous musicians such as Kim Dong-ryul and Yoon Sang entered the school together.

Unlike other singers, Onion made an unusual move by choosing to study abroad in his heyday. Every vacation, I returned to Korea to release my best album, take a leave of absence, and released my fourth full-length album, but due to a lawsuit with my agency, I experienced a long-term gap until 2005, and I had to spend a time in my 20s in vain.

Onion, who debuted 20 years ago as of 2015, is a nationally known singer, but surprisingly has a gap of more than 10 years. However, in 2015, he appeared on MBC's 'I am a Singer 3' and received a great response by telling his autobiographical story honestly. The single "stuck" released in 2017 was the last known discography.
