김광석씨는 3남 2녀 중 막내로, 1964년 1월 22일 대구시 대봉동 방천시장 번개전업사에서 태어났습니다.
1968년 다섯살 나이에 가족과 함께 서울로 이사했고 창신초, 경희중, 대광고를 졸업하셨습니다. 중학교 시절에는 현악부에서 활동하며 선배들로부터 바이올린, 오보에, 플루트 등 다양한 악기를 배웠고, 악보를 보는 법도 익혔습니다. 고등학교에서는 합창단에 속하여 음악 감성을 키웠습니다.

In 1968, when he was five years old, he moved with his family to Changsin-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, where he attended Changsin Elementary School, Kyunghee Junior High School, and Daekwang High School. During his junior high school years, he was active in the string section and learned to play various instruments such as the violin, oboe, and flute from his seniors while also learning how to read music. In high school, he was a member of the choir, where he developed his musical sensibilities.

 

김광석 씨는 1964년 1월 22일 대한민국에서 태어나 32살의 짧은 생을 마감했지만, 뛰어난 싱어송라이터로서 오랜 시간 동안 사랑받고 있습니다.
1982년 명지대학교 경영학과에 입학하고 대학 동아리 연합부터 시작하여 선배들과 함께 소극장에서 포크송을 부르기 시작했습니다.
1984년 12월, "노래를 찾는 사람들" 앨범에 참여하여 음악 활동을 적극적으로 추진하게 되었습니다.
그는 1985년 1월에 군대에 입대하여 단기 병사(방위병)로 6개월의 의무 복무를 완료했습니다. 그는 형인 김광동 씨가 1980년 10월 군 복무 중 사망한 것을 계기로 군대에 입대했으며, "이병의 편지"라는 노래를 부르기 전에 자신의 인생 이야기 앨범에서 이를 이야기했습니다. 군에서 전역한 후에는 다시 학교로 돌아와 "노래를 찾는 사람들" 그룹에 합류하여 정기 공연에 참여하게 되었습니다.
그는 대학 시절 친구들과 함께 동물원 밴드를 결성하여 첫 번째와 두 번째 앨범을 녹음했습니다.
1989년 10월 솔로 데뷔를 하여 첫 번째 앨범을 발매했습니다. 1991년과 1992년에는 두 번째와 세 번째 앨범을 연달아 발매하였으며, 그의 마지막 정규 앨범인 네 번째 앨범은 1994년에 발매되었습니다. 정규 앨범 외에도 1993년과 1995년에 "다시 노래하며 1"과 "다시 노래하며 2" 앨범에서 자신의 곡들을 리메이크하여 발매했습니다.
그는 1991년부터 학전 소극장을 비롯한 소극장에서 정기적으로 공연을 하였으며, 1995년 6월 29일 KMTV의 "슈퍼 콘서트"에 출연하기도 했습니다.

In 1982, he entered the Department of Business Administration at Myongji University and began performing folk songs with his seniors in small theaters after joining a university alliance club.
In December 1984, he participated in the album "People Looking for Songs" and actively pursued his musical career.
He joined the army in January 1985 and completed six months of compulsory military service as a short-term soldier (defense personnel). He served because his older brother Kim Gwang-dong died while serving in the military in October 1980, and he talked about this in his life story album before singing the song "Private's Letter". After his discharge from the army, he returned to school and rejoined the group "People Looking for Songs," participating in their regular performances.
In 1987, he formed a band called Dongmulwon with his friends during his school years and recorded their first and second albums.
In October 1989, he made his solo debut and released his first album. He continued to release his second and third albums in 1991 and 1992 respectively, and his last regular album, the fourth album, in 1994. In addition to his regular albums, he released remakes of his songs in the albums "Sing Again 1" and "Sing Again 2" in 1993 and 1995, respectively.
He performed regularly at small theaters, including Hakjeon, from 1991, and on June 29, 1995, he appeared on KMTV's "Super Concert."
On June 13, 1992, he performed with An Chi-hwan at a charity concert to raise funds for a book fair in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do. There are YouTube videos of them performing together, with Kim playing the violin during An's rendition of "Dry Leaf Shall Live Again."
On August 11, 1995, he set a record for 1,000 performances at a small theater.
On January 5, 1996, he appeared on HBS's "Wintering" hosted by Park Sang-won and sang "Love That Was Too Painful Was Not Love" and "The Day She Cried for the First Time."
He passed away on January 6, 1996, and controversy surrounding the circumstances of his death continues to this day.

 

 

김광석씨는 1996년 1월 6일, 사망하였으나, 그의 음악은 대한민국 음악사에 큰 발자취를 남겨놓았습니다. 그는 대한민국 대중문화예술상 대통령표창장을 받으며, 영원한 가객으로 기억되고 있습니다. 김광석씨의 명언 중에는 "땡큐.", "행복하십시오."와 "안녕하실 테죠?" 등이 있습니다. 그의 음악은 지금도 많은 이들에게 사랑받고 있으며, 그의 이름은 대한민국 대중음악사에 빛나고 있습니다.

Kim Kwang-seok died on January 6, 1996, but his music left a big mark on the history of Korean music. He is remembered as an eternal singer, receiving the Presidential Award for Popular Culture and Arts of Korea.
