주현미 씨는 대한민국의 약사 출신 가수로, 1961년 11월 5일에 태어났습니다. 그녀는 1985년 '비 내리는 영동교'로 10대 가수상과 신인가수상을 동시에 수상하면서 가수로서의 데뷔를 시작했고, 이후 '울면서 후회하네', '신사동 그 사람', '짝사랑', '잠깐만', '또 만났네요', '어제 같은 이별' 등 끝없는 히트곡을 발표해 많은 사랑을 받았습니다.

주현미 씨는 광주에서 산동성 출신 중국인 주금부와 한국인 정옥선 사이에 태어난 혼혈아로, 4남매 중 장녀로 태어났습니다. 이름의 중국어(한어) 발음은 저우쉬안메이(병음: Zhōu Xuànměi)입니다. 주현미 씨의 아버지인 주금부는 한의사(중의사)였기 때문에 중국과 한국을 오가며 한약재 사업을 하였고, 이를 통해 자연스레 의학에 대한 지식을 습득하게 되었습니다.

주현미 씨는 초등학교 5학년때인 1972년에 아버지의 지인인 작곡가 정종택에게 노래 레슨을 받게 되었고, 이를 계기로 처음으로 기념음반 《고향의 품에》(1976년 발표 전곡 작사/작곡:정종택)를 녹음하였습니다. 이후, 중앙대학교에 다니던 시절 MBC 《강변가요제》에 약대 음악 그룹 (진생라딕스)의 보컬로 출전하여 입상하였습니다.

1984년, 약대를 졸업하고 약사면허증을 취득한 주현미 씨는 서울 중구 필동에서 한울약국을 개업하였습니다. 그녀는 약사로 일하면서 작곡가 정종택의 권유로 작곡가 김준규와 함께 메들리 음반 《쌍쌍파티》를 녹음하였고, 이 음반의 히트로 인해 전국적으로 유명해졌습니다.

그리고 1985년, 데뷔곡 '비 내리는 영동교'를 불러 처음으로 대중에게 인기를 얻었으며, 이 곡으로 10대 가수상과 신인 가수상을 수상했습니다. 이후 '울면서 후회하네', '신사동 그 사람', '짝사랑', '잠깐만', '또 만났네요', '어제 같은 이별' 등 끊임없이 히트곡을 선보이며 대한민국 음악계에서 꾸준한 인기를 누리고 있습니다.

Joo Hyun-mi is a Korean pharmacist and singer who was born on November 5, 1961. She debuted as a singer in 1985 when she won both the Teenage and New Singer Awards for "Rainy Youngdonggyo," and later received a lot of love for releasing endless hits such as "The Man Who Cries and Regrets," "Sinsa-dong," "One-sided Love," "We Met Again," and "Farewell Like Yesterday."

Joo Hyun-mi is a mixed-race child born in Gwangju to a Chinese Joo Geum-bu from Shandong Province and a Korean Jeong Ok-sun, the eldest of four children. The Chinese (Korean) pronunciation of the name is Zhou Xuanmei. Joo Hyun-mi's father, Joo Geum-bu, was an oriental medicine doctor, so he went back and forth between China and Korea to do herbal medicine business, and through this, he naturally acquired knowledge of medicine.

Joo Hyun-mi took singing lessons from her father's acquaintance, composer Jeong Jong-taek, in 1972 when she was in the fifth grade of elementary school, and recorded her first commemorative album, "In the arms of her hometown" (all songs released in 1976: Jung Jong-taek). Later, when I was attending Chung-Ang University, MBC's "Gangbyeon-ga"I participated in "Je" as the vocalist of the pharmacy music group (Jinsheng Radix) and won the prize.

In 1984, Joo Hyun-mi, who graduated from pharmacy and obtained a pharmacist's license, opened Hanul Pharmacy in Pil-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. While working as a pharmacist, she recorded a medley album "Ssang Ssang Party" with composer Kim Joon-kyu at the recommendation of composer Jung Jong-taek, which made her famous nationwide.

And in 1985, he sang his debut song 'Rainy Yeongdonggyo Bridge' and became popular with the public for the first time, and for this song, he won the Best Teen Singer and Best New Artist. Since then, he has been steadily gaining popularity in the Korean music industry by performing hit songs such as "I Cry and Regret," "The Sinsa-dong Person," "Crush," "Hold On," "We Met Again," and "Farewell Like Yesterday."
