룰라(영어: Roo'Ra)는 대한민국에서 가장 인기 있는 음악 그룹 중 하나로, 남녀 혼성의 힙합 그룹이자 댄스 팝 보컬 그룹으로 활동했습니다. 그들은 1994년 앨범 "Roots Of Reggae"로 데뷔하였습니다. 데뷔 당시에는 이상민, 김지현, 고영욱, 신정환으로 구성된 3남 1녀의 혼성 그룹이었지만, 2집 앨범 "날개 잃은 천사"부터는 이상민, 김지현, 고영욱, 채리나로 구성된 2남 2녀의 혼성 그룹으로 활동했습니다. 댄서 출신인 박수경이 데뷔 멤버였으나 개인 사정으로 인해 탈퇴하였습니다. 그들의 두 번째 앨범인 "날개 잃은 천사"는 1995년 발매되었으며, 100만 장의 판매 기록을 세우며 대단한 성공을 거두었습니다.

룰라는 2001년 정규 8집 앨범 "Roo'Ra 8th Best & Last" 이후로 오랜 공백 기간을 가졌으며, 2009년에 재결합하여 정규 9집 앨범 "A9ain - Again"을 발매하였습니다. 현재는 이상민, 김지현, 채리나 3인 체제로 주로 공연 및 방송 활동을 이어가고 있습니다.

역사적으로, 룰라는 1994년 데뷔 앨범 "Roots Of Reggae"를 통해 "백일째 만남"과 "비밀은 없어" 등의 곡으로 활약하여 큰 인기를 얻었습니다. 그러나 1집 활동 중에 신정환이 군 입대로 탈퇴하게 되었고, 그 자리에 채리나가 합류하게 되었습니다. 이 때는 라이벌 그룹인 투투에게 밀리는 상황이었지만, 투투가 잠시 주춤하는 사이에 1995년 발매된 정규 2집 앨범 "날개 잃은 천사"로 대성공을 거두며 톱스타로 떠올랐습니다. 하지만 동일한 해에 발매된 정규 3집 앨범의 주요 곡 "천상유애"가 저작권 침해 문제로 논란을 일으켜 이미지가 크게 손상되었고 침체기를 겪었습니다. 이후 1996년 발매된 정규 4집 앨범 "All System Go"는 "3!4!"라는 곡으로 큰 인기를 얻어 명성을 회복하였습니다. 하지만 정규 4집 활동 마치고 김지현이 탈퇴하였으며, 룰라는 흑인 가수 마이키 로메오를 객원 래퍼로 초대하여 1997년 발매한 정규 5집 앨범 "The Final"을 통해 다시 한 번 100만 장 이상의 판매고를 기록하였습니다. 그러나 룰라는 해체를 공식 선언하며 "The Final"을 녹음한 후 해체되었습니다. 리더 이상민이 처음으로 프로듀싱한 앨범이었으며, 수록곡 중 "연인"이 히트했지만 룰라는 예고대로 해체되었습니다.

Roo'Ra (English: Roo'Ra) is one of the most popular music groups in South Korea, and has worked as a mixed hip hop group and dance pop vocal group. They debuted in 1994 with their album Roots Of Reggae. At the time of his debut, he was a mixed group of three sons and one daughter, consisting of Lee Sang-min, Kim Ji-hyun, Ko Young-wook, and Shin Jung-hwan, but from his second album, "Angel Without Wings," he was a mixed group of two sons and two daughters, consisting of Lee Sang-min, Kim Ji-hyun, Ko Young-wook and Chaerina. Park Soo-kyung, a former dancer, was a debut member but withdrew due to personal reasons. Their second album, "Angels Without Wings," was released in 1995 and was a great success, setting a sales record of 1 million copies.

Lula had a long hiatus since her eighth full-length album "Roo'Ra 8th Best & Last" in 2001, and reunited in 2009 to release her ninth full-length album "A9ain - Again".
