대한민국의 4인조 인디밴드 너드커넥션은 1990년부터 2000년대 초반 영국의 밴드음악으로부터 영감을 받아 브리티시 팝과 얼터너티브 록 장르를 기반으로 활동하고 있습니다.

2012년에는 연세대학교의 밴드 동아리 '메두사'에서 보컬인 서영주와 기타리스트인 최승원이 함께 기수를 맞추게 되었습니다. 그리고 2013년에는 베이시스트로 박재현이 동아리에 새로운 멤버로 합류하며 한 팀으로 활동하게 되었습니다.

2017년에는 서영주, 최승원, 박재현은 그동안 취미로 음악을 이어오던 것을 본격적으로 전문적인 활동으로 나아가기로 결심했습니다. 그리고 이전에 박재현과 함께 프로젝트 팀에서 협업한 경험이 있는 드러머인 신연태를 정식 멤버로 영입하여 현재의 구성을 갖추게 되었습니다.

밴드는 약 1년 정도의 시간을 투자하여 기반을 다진 후, 2018년에 열린 EMERGENZA 세계밴드대회에서 한국 지역 대표로 선정되었고 독일 Taubertal Festival 2018에 출전할 자격을 얻었습니다.

2018년 8월에는 첫 싱글을 발표한 후, 약 1년 뒤인 2019년 12월에는 첫 EP인 'TOO FAST'를 공개하며 본격적인 활동을 시작했습니다. 이 앨범은 멤버들이 직접 참여하여 앨범 커버 디자인과 뮤직비디오 연출 등에 많은 정성을 쏟아 만들었습니다.

또한, 2021년 6월 17일에는 인디 레이블인 Your summer와 계약을 맺었습니다.

이 가사는 한 사람의 마음 속에 있는 사랑과 이별의 감정을 표현하고 있습니다. 그렇게 깊은 마음으로 사랑한 상대방의 부서진 마음 조각들이 차갑게 흩어져 있어서 그의 모습을 정확히 이해할 수 없다는 어려움을 노래하고 있습니다. 그러나 그는 상대방에게 좋은 밤과 좋은 꿈을 전하며 작별을 고하는데, 이는 그들의 이야기가 시간이 흐른 뒤에는 사라질지라도 그대 곁에 아련하게 남아있을 것이라는 희망과 약속입니다. 이 가사는 깊은 감정과 애증을 담고 있으며, 어떤 꽃말처럼 그대 곁에서 계속해서 영원히 존재할 것이라는 메시지를 전달하고 있습니다.

The lyrics express the emotions of love and separation within one person's heart. They convey the difficulty of understanding the fragmented pieces of a deeply loved but broken heart that have scattered and turned cold. However, the person bids farewell to their loved one by wishing them good nights and good dreams. This gesture carries the hope and promise that their story, although it may fade with time, will linger faintly by their side like an unknown language of a flower. Nerd Connection is a 4-member indie band from South Korea that draws inspiration from British band music of the 1990s to the early 2000s. They are rooted in the genres of British pop and alternative rock.

In 2012, vocalist Seo Young-ju and guitarist Choi Seung-won met as members of the band club 'Medusa' at Yonsei University. Then in 2013, bassist Park Jae-hyun joined the club as a new member, and they began working together as a team.

In 2017, Seo Young-ju, Choi Seung-won, and Park Jae-hyun decided to pursue music more professionally, transitioning from their previous hobbyist approach. They officially added drummer Shin Yeon-tae, who had previously collaborated with Park Jae-hyun in a project team, completing the current lineup.

After spending about a year establishing their foundation, the band won the EMERGENZA World Band Competition in Korea in 2018, earning them a spot to compete in the Taubertal Festival 2018 in Germany.

In August 2018, they released their first single, and about a year later, in December 2019, they unveiled their first EP, 'TOO FAST,' along with a showcase, marking the beginning of their official activities. The album showcases their dedication, with the members personally involved in album cover design and music video direction.

On June 17, 2021, Nerd Connection signed with the indie label Your Summer.

The band consists of vocalist Seo Young-ju, drummer Shin Yeon-tae, guitarist Choi Seung-won, and bassist Park Jae-hyun. With their diverse musical styles and passion, they have been gaining attention in the Korean music scene. We look forward to their continued growth and the release of fantastic music from them.
