뜨거운 감자는 다양한 음악상에서 수상한 경력을 가지고 있습니다. 2010년 제12회 'Mnet 아시안 뮤직 어워드'에서는 베스트 밴드 퍼포먼스상을 수상하였으며, 2010년 제2회 '멜론 뮤직 어워드'에서는 얼터너티브 부문 스페셜상을 수상하였습니다. 또한, 2011년 제8회 '한국대중음악상'에서는 올해의 노래상을 수상하였습니다.

2018년 김C의 불륜 논란 이후에는 "중력의 여자"를 발표하였으며, 2019년 6월에는 6집 "Liquor Storage"로 컴백하였습니다.

이 노래는 이별 후의 아픔과 후회를 담은 곡으로, 꿈에서도 그리움으로 남아있는 상대방을 찾지만 그 사람은 이미 떠나버렸다는 것을 깨닫는 이의 감정을 노래하고 있다. 그러나 그 누구도 상대방과 같지는 않다는 것을 깨닫고, 상대방을 미워하고 아픔을 느끼기보다는 그 사람을 기억하고 후회하는 마음을 담고 있다. 마지막으로 "아프고 아프더라도 그 다음이 또 나였으면"이라는 가사는 이별 후의 아픔과 상처가 지나가고 다시 새로운 사랑을 시작할 수 있다는 희망적인 메시지를 전하고 있다.

 

This song is about the pain and regret after a breakup, and it sings about the feelings of the person who finds the other person who remains as a longing in his/her dream, but realizes that the person has already left. 누군가는 관찰하고 있다. 그 사람은 자살시도를 하지만 실패하고 한강의 무인도에 불시착한다. 그곳에서 생존을 위해 야생의 삶을 시작하며, 무엇인가에 대한 희망을 느끼게 된다. 모래사장에 쓴 SOS가 HELLO로 바뀌면서, 그의 삶에는 기쁨과 희망이 찾아온다. 한편, 도시에 사는 여자는 자신의 좁고 어두운 방에서 살아가고 있다. 하지만 그녀는 홈페이지 관리나 하루 만보 달리기 같은 일상을 통해 자신을 위로하며, 달 사진 찍기를 취미로 즐기고 있다. 어느 날, 한강의 무인도에서 낯선 모습을 발견하고, 그녀는 그 사람에게 리플을 달아주기로 결심한다. 3년 만에 자신의 방에서 벗어나 그를 찾아 달려간다. 

 

Someone is observing. He attempts suicide but fails and lands on a deserted island in the Han River. There, you start a wild life for survival, and you feel hope for something. As the SOS written on the sandy beach is changed to HELLO, joy and hope come to his life. Meanwhile, the woman living in the city lives in her narrow, dark room. However, she comforts herself through daily activities such as managing her homepage and running 10,000 steps a day, and enjoys taking pictures of the moon as a hobby. One day, when she finds a strange figure on a deserted island in the Han River, she decides to post a comment to the person. After three years, he leaves his room and runs to find him.

The Korean music group "Hot Potato" is a band formed by Kim C and Ko Bum-joon in 1997, and is building a unique music world through active performances at a cafe in front of Hongdae.

Hot potatoes have been making music with the motif of suspicious things, heartbreaking things, and angry things.
