김광석 선생님은 대한민국의 싱어송라이터로, 1964년 1월 22일 대구시 대봉동 방천시장 번개전업사에서 태어나셨습니다. 대광고등학교를 졸업하신 후에는 대학 연합 동아리에서 민중가요를 부르시면서 소극장에서 활동하셨으며, 1984년에는 '노래를 찾는 사람들 1집'에 참여하여 데뷔하셨습니다. 이후 병역을 이행하신 후 1989년 솔로로 데뷔 앨범을 발표하시며 가요계에 이름을 남기게 되셨습니다.

김광석 선생님은 대한민국의 음악사에 큰 흔적을 남긴 인물 중 하나입니다. 그의 목소리와 노래는 지금도 수많은 이들의 마음속에 살아 숨쉬며, 앞으로도 계속해서 사랑받을 것입니다.

Kim Kwang-seok was a singer-songwriter from South Korea, born on January 22, 1964 in Bangcheon Market, Daebong-dong, Daegu. After graduating from Daegwang High School, he performed folk songs with a university music club and worked in small theaters. He made his debut in 1984 by participating in the album "People Who Seek Songs, Vol. 1." After completing his military service, he released his solo debut album in 1989 and became a well-known artist in the Korean music scene.

Kim Kwang-seok poured his heart and soul into his music, moving countless listeners with his emotional performances. His songs continue to resonate with people today and are still loved by many.

1988년에 발매된 동물원의 첫 앨범은 김창기, 김광석, 유준열, 박기영, 박경찬, 이성우, 최형우라는 친구들이 대학 1학년 때부터 함께 곡을 만들었던 것에서 출발하였습니다. 이들은 종종 '무진기행' 카페에서 모여 녹음 테이프를 만들곤 했습니다. 김창기씨가 자신의 솔로 앨범에 수록하려고 준비한 곡을 임지훈씨가 김창완 선배님께 소개하였습니다. 김창완은 녹음 음악을 듣고 음반 제작을 제안하여 밴드가 즉흥적으로 결성되었습니다.

동물원 1집의 이름은 처음에는 "이대생을 위한 발라드"라는 이름이 제안되었으나, 결국 동물원이라는 이름으로 정해졌습니다. 이는 7명의 다양한 개성을 가진 멤버들이 모여 동물원과 같은 모습을 보인다는 착안에서 지어진 이름입니다. 김창기와 유준열은 각각 "거리에서", "변해가네", "말하지 못한 내 사랑", "지붕위의 별" 등을 작곡하여 이들의 작곡 실력을 입증했습니다. 발매된 앨범은 아마추어티가 눈에 띄었지만, 그 속에 담긴 순수하고 밝은 정서의 노래들은 상업성에 오염되지 않은 대안적인 음악으로 자리매김하게 되었습니다. 이 결과 동물원의 앨범은 상당한 판매량을 기록하며, "아마추어리즘이 성공적으로 만들어낸 가장 뛰어난 작품"으로 평가받게 되었습니다.

 

The first album by the band Dongmulwon, released in 1988, originated from a group of friends who had been creating music together since their freshman year of college. The members included Kim Chang-ki, Kim Kwang-seok, Yoo Joon-yeol, Park Ki-young, Park Kyung-chan, Lee Sung-woo, and Choi Hyung-woo, who often gathered at the "Mujingihyeong" cafe to make recordings on cassette tapes. During this time, Kim Chang-ki was preparing a song for his solo album, which was introduced to Kim Chang-wan of the band Sanulrim by Lim Ji-hoon. Kim Chang-wan proposed that they make an album, and the band was formed on the spot.

The name of Dongmulwon's first album was initially suggested to be "Ballad for the Ewha Woman," but it was eventually named "Dongmulwon." This name was inspired by the diverse personalities of the seven members coming together to create a unique atmosphere, much like a zoo. Kim Chang-ki and Yoo Joon-yeol composed several tracks, including "On the Street," "Changing," "My Love I Couldn't Express," and "Star on the Rooftop," showcasing their songwriting skills. Although the album's amateurishness was noticeable, the pure and cheerful emotions conveyed in the songs established them as an alternative music genre untainted by commercialism. As a result, the album sold well and was regarded as "the most exceptional work produced by the amateur music scene."

"그녀가 처음 울던 날"은 화자가 언제나 밝은 모습으로 보았던 '그녀'가 처음으로 눈물을 보인 날, 화자를 떠나가버렸다는 슬픈 내용을 담은 곡입니다. 이 곡은 역설적으로 곡 분위기가 꽤 밝은 편이라는 특징이 있습니다.

"First Day She Cried," is a sad song about the day the speaker saw the first tears from the woman who always showed a bright side, and how she left the speaker. Ironically, the song has a relatively bright tone.
