나미는 대한민국의 댄스 뮤직 아이콘으로 고유한 목소리와 댄스 음악으로 1980년대에 큰 인기를 얻은 가수입니다.

미군기지 부근 레코드 가게 주인의 딸로 태어난 나미는 어린 시절부터 미군 무대에서 노래를 부르며 활동을 시작했습니다. 1967년, 아직 초등학생이었을 때에는 영화 '엘레지의 여왕'에서 이미자의 아역을 연기하며 무대에 서기 시작했습니다. 청소년 시기에는 '해피돌즈'라는 그룹의 보컬로 활동하며 베트남 위문공연과 미군 주관 공연에 참여했습니다. 1978년에 '해피돌즈'가 해산되고, 나미라는 예명을 사용하여 솔로 가수로 활동을 시작했습니다. 이때 함께한 밴드의 이름은 '나미와 머슴아들'이었습니다.

나미는 그 특유의 허스키한 목소리와 댄스 음악으로 1980년대부터 90년대 초까지 활약하며 히트곡을 여럿 냈습니다. 그 중에서 '영원한 친구', '슬픈인연', '빙글빙글', '아리랑 처녀', '마지막 인사' 등은 대중들에게 기억될 만한 곡들 중 일부입니다. 개인사정으로 활동을 일시적으로 중단했으나, '빙글빙글'의 히트로 연예계로 복귀하게 되었습니다.

1989년에는 6집 앨범에서 트로트 발라드 '미움인지 그리움인지'로 활동을 시작하다가 '인디언 인형처럼'이 큰 반응을 얻었습니다. 그리고 1990년에는 붐붐과 함께 '나미와 붐붐'을 결성하여 리믹스 싱글 '인디언 인형처럼'을 발표하며 큰 성공을 거두었습니다. 붐붐은 특색 있는 무대 복장과 토끼춤으로 더블 DJ로 활동했고, 이 노래는 큰 인기를 끈 곡 중 하나입니다.

나미는 매니저였던 최봉호와 결혼해 두 아들을 두었으며, 아들 중 하나인 최정철은 가수로 활동하고 있습니다.

나미는 1956년생인데도 1967년에 데뷔하여 아주 어린 나이에 활동을 시작했습니다. 그녀의 아버지가 레코드 가게를 운영하고 있었고, 그곳에서 밴드 마스터들과 친해져 음악에 친숙해졌다고 합니다.

Nami is a Korean dance music icon who gained huge popularity in the 1980s with her unique voice and dance music.

Born to the daughter of a record store owner near the U.S. military base, Nami began her career as a child singing on the U.S. military stage. In 1967, when he was still an elementary school student, he began to stand on stage playing the child role of Lee Mi-ja in the movie Queen of Ellegy. During his adolescence, he worked as a vocalist for a group called "Happy Dolls" and participated in Vietnamese consolation performances and U.S. military-sponsored performances. In 1978, Happy Dolls was disbanded, and Nami began her career as a solo artist using her stage name. The band's name was Namiwa's farmhand son.

With his unique husky voice and dance music, Nami was active from the 1980s to the early 90s and produced several hit songs. Among them, "Forever Friend," "Sad Relationship," "Bingle and Round," "Arirang Maiden," and "Goodbye" are some of the songs that will be remembered by the public. He temporarily suspended his activities due to personal reasons, but returned to the entertainment industry with the hit of "Bingle and Round."

In 1989, he started his career with the trot ballad "Hate or Miss" on his sixth album, and "Like an Indian Doll" received a big response. And in 1990, he formed "Namiwa Boom Boom Boom" with Boom Boom and released a remix single "Like an Indian Doll" which was a great success. Boom Boom acted as a double DJ with his distinctive stage costume and rabbit dance, and the song is one of the songs that gained huge popularity.

Nami is married to Choi Bong-ho, his manager, and has two sons, and one of his sons, Choi Jung-chul, is a singer.

Despite being born in 1956, Nami debuted in 1967 and began her career at a very young age. Her father ran a record store, where he became familiar with the bandmasters and became familiar with music.
