김지애(金芝愛)은 대한민국의 가수로, 1962년 3월 10일에 서울특별시에서 태어났습니다. 그녀는 덕성여자고등학교를 졸업했으며, 초등학교 2학년 때 KBS 어린이 노래자랑에서 노래를 불러 대상을 수상할 정도로 뛰어난 노래 실력을 보였습니다. 고등학교 졸업 후 미국으로 건너가 동포 위문 공연을 하며 활동을 시작했습니다.
1983년에 대한민국으로 귀국한 후, 작곡가 박춘석과의 만남을 통해 데뷔하게 되었는데, 이때 백일희의 곡을 리메이크한 "목포의 부르스"로 데뷔했지만 큰 성공은 이루지 못했습니다.
그러나 1986년에 금나영 작사, 박춘석 작곡인 "물레야"가 히트를 하며 그녀의 인기가 상승세를 탔습니다. 이후 1989년에 전영록이 작곡한 "얄미운 사람"은 대한민국의 군인사회를 풍자한 곡으로 대히트를 기록했습니다. 이 곡은 KBS 음악 프로그램 "가요 톱 10"에서 5주간 1위를 차지하여 큰 주목을 받았습니다.
