1994년 잉글랜드에서 결성된 밴드인 뮤즈는, 데뷔 앨범 'Showbiz'가 발매되면서 일부 평론가들에게 라디오헤드의 톰 요크와의 유사성으로 '라디오헤드의 아류'라는 오명을 받았습니다.

2009년 발매한 새 앨범 'The Resistance'는, 발매와 동시에 전 세계 21개국 아이튠스 차트에서 1위를 기록하며 인기를 끌었습니다. 또한 영국에서는 첫날 7만 장이 판매되어 그해 발매한 앨범 중 '첫날 판매량 1위' 기록을 세우기도 했습니다. 이 앨범은 한국에서도 일주일 만에 1만장을 판매하여, 팝 앨범(단일) 중 최단 기간 최대 판매고를 기록하면서 플래티넘 기록을 달성하였습니다.

뮤즈는 'Starlight', 'Hysteria', 'Bliss', 'Blackout' 등 자신들의 대표곡으로 유명합니다. 멤버로는 매슈 벨러미가 보컬, 기타, 키보드, 월타이저 피아노, 파이프 오르간을 맡으며, 크리스 볼첸홈은 베이스 기타와 배킹 보컬, 도미닉 하워드는 드럼과 타악기를 담당하고 있습니다.

Muse, a band formed in England in 1994, was initially labeled as "Radiohead imitators" by some critics due to their similarities with Thom Yorke's sound. However, with the release of their debut album "Showbiz", Muse began to establish their own unique style.

Their fourth album, "Black Holes and Revelations," released in 2006, sold over 100,000 copies within the first week of its release and reached number one on the UK charts. This success led to Muse winning the Best Band award at the 2007 NME Awards, as well as the Best Live Band award at the 2008 NME Awards.

In 2009, Muse released their new album, "The Resistance," which immediately reached number one on the iTunes charts in 21 countries worldwide. In the UK, the album sold 70,000 copies on its first day of release, making it the best-selling album of the year on its first day. In Korea, the album sold 10,000 copies in just one week, achieving platinum status and setting a record for the fastest-selling pop album.

Muse is known for their hit songs such as "Starlight," "Hysteria," "Bliss," and "Blackout." The band consists of Matt Bellamy on vocals, guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, and pipe organ; Chris Wolstenholme Matthew Bellamy provides lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, Mellotron, and pipe organ; Chris Wolstenholme plays bass guitar and provides backing vocals; while Dominic Howard handles drums and percussion duties.
