YB는 대한민국의 록 밴드로, 원래 '윤도현 밴드'로 데뷔하였으나 2005년 밴드명을 'YB'로 변경하여 활동하고 있습니다. 이 이름 변경은 함께 유럽 순회공연을 돌았던 영국 밴드 스테랑코가 "YB의 음악은 전 세계적으로 인정받을만 하나 밴드명을 부르기가 어렵다"며 권유한 결과였으며, 'YB'라는 명칭 자체는 2003년부터 사용되었습니다.

1994년에 윤도현의 솔로 앨범으로 데뷔하였으나, 그 뒤에 윤도현, 유병열(기타), 김진원(드럼), 박태희(베이스)와 함께 밴드를 결성하였고, 1996년에는 영화 "정글 스토리"에도 출연하게 되었습니다. 이후, 강호정(건반, 프로듀서)과 엄태환(하모니카, 어쿠스틱 기타)이 합류하여 1997년 2집 앨범 "윤도현2 and Band"를 발표하며 본격적인 밴드 활동을 시작하였습니다.
매년 앨범을 발매하고 라이브 공연을 하면서 지명도를 넓혀나갔으며, 히트곡 "너를 보내고"를 통해 재결성하였습니다. 밴드 구성원의 변경과 함께 2000년 9월에 첫 라이브 앨범 "윤도현 밴드 Live"를 발매하였습니다.
2001년, 허준이 기타를 맡아 정규 5집 "Urbanite"를 발표하며 히트곡 "내게 와줘"와 "박하사탕" 등을 소개하였습니다.
2002년 FIFA 한일 월드컵을 응원하는 공식 응원가 "오 필승 코리아"를 발표하여 큰 인기를 얻었으며, 밴드는 "국민 밴드"로 불리는 전환점을 맞이하였습니다.
2002년에는 두 번째 라이브 앨범 "Live II - Live Is Life"를 발매하고 북한에서 공연한 대한민국 최초의 록 밴드로 기록되었습니다.
2003년에는 전국 32개 도시를 돌며 순회공연을 하였고, 2005년에는 유럽 투어를 통해 다른 밴드와 공연을 펼친 바 있습니다.
2011년에 정식으로 멤버로 합류한 스캇 할로웰과 함께 활발한 활동을 지속하며 2002년 이후 또 다른 전성기를 누리고 있습니다.
2015년에는 데뷔 20주년을 맞아 전국 14개 도시에서 "YB 20주년 콘서트 '스무살'"을 개최하였으며, 이를 통해 "월드컵과 나가수가 YB를 살렸다"고 언급하였습니다.
대한민국의 록 음악을 대표하는 밴드 중 하나로 그들의 음악은 꾸준한 팬덤과 지지를 받고 있으며, 대중적인 활동을 통해 다양한 성취를 이루어냈습니다.

YB is a Korean rock band that originally debuted as Yoon Do-hyun Band but changed its band name to YB in 2005. The name change was the result of British band Steranko, who toured Europe together, recommending, "YB's music is recognized worldwide, but it is difficult to call the band name," and the name "YB" itself has been used since 2003.

YB debuted in 1994 with Yoon Do-hyun's solo album, but later formed a band with Yoon Do-hyun, Yoo Byung-yeol (guitar), Kim Jin-won (drum), and Park Tae-hee (base), and in 1996 they also appeared in the movie Jungle Story. Afterwards, Kang Ho-jung (keyboard, producer) and Eom Tae-hwan (harmonica, acoustic guitar) joined and began their band activities with the release of their second album, "Yoon Do-hyun 2 and Band," in 1997.

YB expanded its reputation by releasing albums and performing live every year, and re-formed through its hit song "Letting You Go." With the change of band members, they released their first live album, "Yoon Do-hyun Band Live," in September 2000.

In 2001, Heo Jun played the guitar and released his fifth full-length album "Urbanite," introducing the hit songs "Come to Me" and "Mint Candy."

YB gained huge popularity by releasing "Oh Pil-seung Korea," an official cheerleading song for the 2002 FIFA Korea-Japan World Cup, and the band marked a turning point called the "national band."

In 2002, he released his second live album "Live II - Live Is Life" and became the first rock band in South Korea to perform in North Korea.

In 2003, he toured 32 cities across the country, and in 2005, he performed with other bands through a European tour.

YB has been in another heyday since 2002, with Scott Hollowell, who officially joined in 2011.

In 2015, to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut, 14 cities across the country held "YB 20th Anniversary Concert 'Twenty-year-old', which mentioned that "World Cup and Na Singer saved YB."
