뱅크는 대한민국의 프로젝트 그룹으로, 처음에는 밴드의 형태로 시작하였으나 멤버 교체와 탈퇴로 인해 사실상 정시로의 원맨 밴드로 굳어졌습니다. 그룹명인 뱅크는 여러 장르의 음악을 다양하게 시도하겠다는 의미로 지어졌습니다. 정시로는 성균관대학교 철학과 출신으로, 1988년 KBS 대학가요축제에서 입상한 후 데뷔 앨범을 발매하였지만 성공하지 못하였습니다. 그 이후 대영AV의 작곡가 및 음악감독으로 활동하다가, 1995년 정규 1집 The Bank를 발매하면서 자신이 작곡한 〈가질 수 없는 너〉가 큰 사랑을 받았습니다. 이후 이 곡은 여러 차례 리메이크되었으며, 지금도 많은 사랑을 받고 있습니다. 2021년 3월 17일 뱅크 채널의 라이브 방송에서는 〈가질 수 없는 너〉에 대한 비하인드 스토리를 언급하였습니다. 한 신인 가수의 매니저가 정시로에게 곡을 받으려고 쫓아다니던 중, 그 친구를 위해 만든 곡이 〈가질 수 없는 너〉였습니다. 그러나 그 친구가 녹음 준비가 덜 되었다는 판단으로 정시로가 그 곡을 회수한 후 급하게 뱅크를 하게 되면서 정시로가 직접 〈가질 수 없는 너〉를 부르게 되었습니다.

Bank is a project group from South Korea that started as a band but eventually solidified into a one-man band due to member changes and departures. The name "Bank" was chosen to represent their intention to experiment with various genres of music. Jung Jisun, also known as Jung Shiro, is a philosophy major from Sungkyunkwan University who debuted with an album in 1988 after winning an award at the KBS College Song Festival, but did not achieve success. He then worked as a composer and music director for Daeyoung AV before releasing his first album, "The Bank," in 1995, which featured his own composition "Can't Have You," a beloved song that has been remade several times and continues to be popular. On March 17, 2021, during a live broadcast on the Bank channel, Jung mentioned the behind-the-scenes story of "Can't Have You." He revealed that he had written the song for a friend of a rookie singer's manager who was chasing him down for a song. However, when he retrieved the song due to his friend not being ready for recording, he hastily formed Bank and ended up singing "Can't Have You" himself.
