아티스트 임재범(Im Jae-bum)은 대한민국의 록 가수로, 그의 음악 경력은 꽤 오래되었습니다. 1962년 10월 14일에 태어난 임재범은 대한민국 전남 나주시에서 태어났으며, 임태근의 성을 이어받은 가족 중 한 명입니다.

그의 음악 경력은 1983년 언더그라운드 라이브 클럽에서 록 음악 가수로 활동하면서 시작되었습니다. 그는 이후 1986년 서울고등학교 동문인 신대철과 함께 시나위 1집에 참여하여 〈크게 라디오를 켜고〉를 부르며 대중 음악계에 데뷔하였습니다.

그러나 군대 문제로 인해 잠시 음악 활동을 중단하였지만, 이후 록 밴드 부활의 이지웅 등과 함께한 외인부대로 활동을 재개하고 대한민국의 록 프로젝트 그룹 중 하나인 록 인 코리아(Rock in Korea)를 거쳐 김도균과 함께한 아시아나 활동을 끝으로 밴드 생활을 중단하였습니다.

1991년에는 솔로로 나아가 1집 앨범을 발표하였고, 타이틀곡 〈이 밤이 지나면〉으로 큰 인기를 얻었습니다. 그러나 표절 판정과 방송 출연 정지 등의 어려움을 겪었고, 팝 발라드로의 전환 시도 역시 성공하지 못한 모양입니다. 이후 앨범 발표와 잠적을 반복하면서 방송 활동이 거의 없었으며, 뿐만 아니라 인터뷰와 공연조차 하지 않았고 앨범만 내다가 2004년에 처음으로 단독 콘서트를 열었습니다.

하지만 임재범의 음악은 여전히 팬들 사이에서 사랑받고 있습니다. 그의 대표곡으로는 2집의 〈사랑보다 깊은 상처〉, 3집의 〈고해〉, 4집의 〈너를 위해〉 등이 있으며, 2010년에 KBS 드라마 《추노》의 메인 타이틀 곡인 〈낙인〉으로 세간의 이목을 한 번 더 끌었습니다. 또한, 2011년에는 SBS 드라마 스페셜 《싸인》의 타이틀 곡인 〈독종〉을 불렀으며, 같은 해 5월에 MBC 《나는 가수다》 출연을 통해 제2의 전성기를 맞이하였습니다.

2022년 현재, 임재범은 정규 7집 앨범을 발표하며 7년 만에 활동을 재개했습니다. 이번 앨범에서 그는 과거와는 다른 역량을 보여주며 목소리와 무자비한 진성의 질을 더욱 향상시켰습니다. 앨범은 '집을 나서며...'라는 주제로 구성되어 있으며, 각 막은 그의 감성을 다양한 음악적 표현으로 전달합니다.

프롤로그 곡 '위로'에서는 지인에게 인사를 건네며 시작하며, 1막의 타이틀곡 '여행자'는 일상을 여행자처럼 살아가는 이야기를 담고 있습니다. 2막의 '히말라야'는 절망 끝에 희망을 찾아가는 이야기이며, 3막의 '아버지 사진'은 기억을 정리하며 시작하는 새로운 시작을 담고 있습니다. 에필로그 곡 '홀로 핀 아이'는 감정이 정리된 후 세상을 다시 마주하는 이야기를 풀어냅니다.

The album is structured around the theme of "Leaving Home," and each section conveys his emotions through diverse musical expressions.

The prologue track, "Comfort," begins with greetings to acquaintances, setting the tone for the album. The title track of the 1st section, "Traveler," narrates life as if it were a journey, akin to living every day as a traveler. "Himalaya," the track of the 2nd section, explores the idea of finding hope at the end of despair. "Father's Picture," the 3rd section, represents a new beginning as memories are sorted and cherished. The epilogue track, "Blossomed Alone," delves into the story of facing the world with emotions finally in order.

The album features various lyricists and composers who have poured their emotions and stories into the songs. Notably, the composer of "Emergency," Choi Jun-young, worked on the title track "Traveler." Lyricist Chae Jeong-eun contributed to most of the songs, crafting touching lyrics. Music director Park Ki-deok produced the title track of the 2nd section, "Himalaya," incorporating a modern sense of rock sound.

The album, titled "SEVEN, (세븐 콤마)," signifies Im Jae-bum's comeback after seven years of rest and also emphasizes his determination and hope for the future. It's a highly anticipated album that reflects his journey and emotions during this time.

Artist Im Jae-bum is a South Korean rock singer who has a long musical career. Born on October 14, 1962, Lim Jae-beom was born in Naju, South Jeolla Province, South Korea, and is one of the family members who inherited Lim Tae-geun's last name.

His music career began in 1983 when he worked as a rock music singer at the underground live club. He later made his pop debut in 1986 with Shin Dae-chul, an alumnus of Seoul High School, in the first album of Sinawe, singing "Loudly Turn on the Radio."

However, he stopped his music activities for a while due to military problems, but later resumed his activities as a foreign unit with Lee Ji-woong of the rock band Resurrection, and after Asiana activities with Kim Do-kyun through Rock in Korea, one of the Korean rock project groups.

In 1991, he went solo and released his first album, and became very popular with the title track "After This Night". However, he suffered from plagiarism and suspension of broadcasting, and his attempt to switch to a pop ballad seems to have not been successful either. Since then, there has been little broadcasting activity, repeating the album release and disappearance, and not only interviewed or performed, but also released an album, and held a solo concert for the first time in 2004.

However, Lim Jae-beom's music is still loved by fans. His representative songs include "Deeper Than Love," "Confession" from his second album, and "For You," from his fourth album, and "Darkness," the main title song of the KBS drama "Chuno," in 2010, drew public attention once more.
