Eventually, it was recommended to Jang Yoon-jung, who initially didn't want to sing it and reportedly cried for three days. She currently resides in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and is a versatile artist who is active in various fields. She showcases a range of genres including trot, dance pop, and ballads, demonstrating her multifaceted musical talents.

In 1999, she debuted at the 20th MBC Gangbyeon Gayo Festival, gaining attention with her trot debut song "Eomeona" (어머나). This song, composed by Yun Myung-seon, was initially created following a suggestion from Gye Eun-suk. However, when Gye Eun-suk declined to sing it, the song was rejected by several other artists as well. Eventually, the song found its way to Jang Yoon-jung, who overcame initial reluctance and became a hit, making her a rising trot queen.

Apart from her music career, Jang Yoon-jung is also active as a host and field announcer. In 2013, she married actor Do Kyung-wan and started her own family.
