윤수일 선생님은 대한민국의 가수로, 1977년 솜사탕이라는 그룹사운드로 가요계에 데뷔하셨습니다.

데뷔곡 '사랑만은 않겠어요'는 1978년 말 "MBC 10대 가요상"에서 최고 인기상을 받으며 대단한 업적을 이루셨습니다.

이후에는 솔로 가수로 활동하시면서, 트로트를 부르시는 다른 그룹사운드 출신 가수들과 달리 트로트 취향의 노래를 부르시면서도 많은 인기를 얻으셨습니다. '사랑만은 않겠어요'를 시작으로 '갈대', '추억', '나나', '유랑자' 등의 히트곡들로 대중들의 사랑을 받으며 자리를 굳혔습니다.

1980년 11월, 이규문, 이진수, 오준열, 이희영과 함께 윤수일 밴드를 조직하시면서 음악적으로도 새로운 도전을 하셨습니다. 그녀석의 자작곡 '떠나지마', '제2의 고향'을 시작으로 2집 '아파트', 3집 '아름다워', 4집 '환상의 섬', 5집 '도시의 천사', '황홀한 고백', '토요일밤의 연인들'에 이르기까지 많은 히트곡들을 발표하시며 대중들의 사랑을 한몸에 받으셨습니다. 그녀석의 활약은 1970년대 신중현 선배님의 뒤를 이어 1980년대 가요계에 록 음악이 대중가요로 널리 인기를 얻는데 있어서도 절대적인 역할을 하셨습니다.

특히, 회색 도시 속 젊은이들의 사랑과 쓸쓸함을 그린 명곡 '아파트'는 흥겨운 고고 리듬과 함께 아파트가 생활의 주 무대가 된 한국인들이 공감할만한 가사로 KBS "가요 톱10"에서 5주 연속 1위를 차지하며 많은 사랑을 받았습니다. 그리고 이 곡은 스포츠 경기의 단골 응원가, 전 국민의 애창곡이 되어 이제까지도 많은 사랑을 받고 있습니다.

Senior Yoon Soo-il is a singer-songwriter from South Korea who made his debut in the music industry in 1977 with a group called SomSatang. His debut song, "I Won't Only Love," won the top popularity award at the end of 1978 at the "MBC Top 10 Music Awards," achieving a remarkable feat. Afterwards, he gained much popularity as a solo artist, despite singing trot music, which is a genre preferred by other group-sound artists. With hits like "Galdae," "Memories," "Nana," "Wanderer," and "City Angel," in addition to "I Won't Only Love," he cemented his place in the hearts of the public.

In November 1980, he formed the Yoon Soo-il Band with Lee Kyu-mun, Lee Jin-soo, Oh Jun-yeol, and Lee Hee-young, embarking on new musical challenges. From his self-written songs "Don't Leave" and "Second Hometown," to his second album "Apartment," third album "Beautiful," fourth album "Fantasy Island," fifth album "City Angel," "Ecstatic Confession," and "Saturday Night Lovers," he released many hit songs and received much love from the public. His achievements played a crucial role in making rock music widely popular in the mainstream music scene of the 1980s, following in the footsteps of senior Shin Joong-hyun in the 1970s.

In particular, his masterpiece "Apartment," which portrays the love and loneliness of young people in a gray city, was a hit song that resonated with Koreans who saw apartments as the main stage of their lives. With an upbeat go-go rhythm and lyrics that struck a chord with many, the song topped the KBS "Top 10 Music" chart for five consecutive weeks and received much love. It has since become a staple cheer song at sporting events and a beloved national anthem, continuing to receive much love to this day.
