오징어는 바다에서 주로 서식하는 무척추 동물 중 하나로, 오징어과에 속하는 해산물입니다. 그 외에도 전 세계의 다양한 해역에서 발견됩니다. 오징어는 그 특유의 민감한 감각과 높은 지능으로 유명하며, 선명한 시력과 발달된 뇌를 가지고 있습니다.

몸은 민첩하고 슬림하며, 유연한 튜브 모양을 하고 있습니다. 일반적으로 머리 부분에 위치한 큰 눈과 튜브 모양의 몸체, 그리고 여러 개의 팔과 먹이를 잡아 먹는데 사용되는 부리로 구성되어 있습니다. 또한, 오징어는 물고기와 달리 뒤쪽에 위치한 큰 지느러미가 없고, 대신에 몸 전체에 작은 지느러미가 여러 개 붙어 있습니다.

오징어는 주로 작은 생물들을 사냥하여 먹이로 삼으며, 바닷속에서 빠르고 민첩하게 움직이며 사냥을 합니다. 또한, 몸의 색깔을 변화시켜서 자신을 위협하는 적을 피하거나 먹이를 잡기 위해 환경에 적응합니다.

한국을 포함한 많은 국가에서는 오징어를 다양한 요리로 즐기며, 오징어 회, 오징어 볶음, 오징어 숙회 등 다양한 조리법으로 소비됩니다. 풍부한 단백질과 영양소를 함유하고 있어 건강에 좋으며, 다양한 맛과 질감을 즐길 수 있는 해산물로 사랑받고 있습니다.

충남 보령 외연도는 중국에서 닭 우는 소리가 들린다는 유명한 해안 지역으로, 90여 개의 섬 중에서도 육지에서 가장 먼 거리에 위치한 고요하고 아름다운 섬입니다. 보령시의 남쪽 끝에 자리하고 있으며, 대천항에서 약 41km 떨어져 있어 웨스트 프런티어호를 이용하여 약 1시간 반의 시간을 투자해야만 접할 수 있는 특별한 곳입니다.

외연도는 새하얀 해무로 유명하며, 그 모습이 연기에 가려져 있는 듯한 아름다움을 자랑합니다. 갑작스럽게 하늘로 솟아오른 산봉우리와 함께 하늘과 바다가 어우러진 풍경은 관광객들에게 매료적인 경험을 선사합니다. 이 섬은 작지만 다양한 매력을 가지고 있습니다.

외연도에는 약 191가구에 435명의 주민이 거주하며, 그들은 어업으로 생계를 유지하고 있습니다. 섬 뒷산에는 우리나라 남서부 도서의 식물들을 한눈에 볼 수 있는 상록수림이 자리하고 있습니다. 상록수림 안에는 수백 년 된 동백나무를 비롯한 다양한 종류의 수목이 우거져 있으며, 그 가운데에는 두 그루의 동백나무 가지가 하나의 가지로 이어진 신비로운 사랑나무가 자리하고 있습니다. 이곳은 사랑하는 이들에게 특별한 의미를 가지고 있는 곳으로 전해지고 있습니다.

또한, 외연도에는 역사적인 유적도 많이 남아 있습니다. 전횡장군과 그의 군사들의 이야기가 전해지는 신당도 있으며, 여러 개의 무인도가 신비롭고 아름다운 섬을 에워싸고 있어서 탐험가들에게도 흥미로운 장소입니다.

외연도를 방문하면 매바위, 병풍바위, 여인바위 등의 자연적인 명승물을 감상할 수 있습니다. 또한, 상투바위와 고래조지 등의 바위들도 함께 볼 수 있습니다. 이렇듯 외연도는 자연과 역사가 어우러진 아름다운 곳으로, 여행객들에게 특별한 경험을 안겨줄 것입니다.

Boryeong Oeyeon, South Chungcheong Province, is a famous coastal area where you can hear the sound of chickens crying in China, and it is the most tranquil and beautiful island located at the farthest distance from the land among the 90 islands.
