그러던 어느 날, 마유톄는 출산이 불가능하고 다른 사람의 도움 없이는 삶을 이어나갈 수 없는 카오 구이잉과 만납니다. 그는 구이잉을 위해 차이리(지참금) 200위안을 주고 그녀를 데려오게 됩니다. 처음에는 어색한 관계였지만, 유톄의 성실함과 다정한 배려로 둘 사이의 인연은 서서히 깊어져갑니다. 가난하고 어려운 삶을 함께 나누며, 둘은 흙집을 짓고 서로에게 의지하며 행복한 일상을 쌓아갑니다.

그러나 운명은 언제나 예측 불허입니다. 어느 날, 구이잉은 유톄을 찾아가던 중 물에 빠져 사망합니다. 이후, 유톄은 형의 제안으로 재개발 아파트를 살게 됩니다. 그리고 영화는 자막으로 "2011년 겨울, 남주인공은 정부와 열성적인 마을 사람들의 도움으로 새로운 집으로 이사하여 새로운 삶을 살았다"라고 마무리됩니다.

Sharing poor and difficult lives together, the two build a dirt house and rely on each other to build a happy daily life.

But fate is always unpredictable. One day, Guiying drowned while searching for Yutae. After that, he bought a redevelopment apartment with his brother's proposal. And the film concludes with a caption, "In the winter of 2011, the male protagonist moved to a new house with the help of the government and the enthusiastic villagers and lived a new life."

At the same time as the happy ending, this work paradoxically captures the sorrow of the death of the main character, Yutae. It is a touching story that considers human life, values, love, and sacrifice using China's rural reality and social issues as the subject, and provides the audience with emotion and thought.
